Does home insurance cover boilers?
Your home insurance policy is unlikely to cover the repair or replacement of your boiler due to wear and tear.
Most boiler breakdowns occur because the boiler hasn’t been looked after properly, which is why home insurance providers don’t include it as standard in their policies.
Is boiler cover worth it?
Paying for boiler cover monthly is much cheaper than paying for a plumber to come out in an emergency if something goes wrong.
It also includes an annual boiler service as standard, so even if you don’t make a call-out, you can still benefit from taking out boiler cover.

With boiler cover, if your boiler stops working, you have access to a team of local Gas Safe engineers who can be with you on the same day – and we won’t charge you a call-out fee.
Does boiler cover include replacement?
If we can’t repair your boiler, then we’ll discuss the next steps with you to find the most economical way to get your central heating working again. Some of our boiler packages cover the replacement of certain parts, such as the controls that make the boiler work.

What does boiler warranty cover?
If you’ve had a new boiler installed recently, then it’s probably covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
This can range from two to 12 years and covers you for genuine faults caused by an issue with the system. Most policies stipulate that your boiler must be serviced at least once a year for the warranty to apply.
