What is a split system air conditioner?
There are several types of air conditioning units: portable units that can be moved from room to room, ducted systems that distribute cooled air through a network of pipes, and split system air conditioners, like the Worcester Bosch 3000i.
Split system air conditioning units comprise a wall-mounted indoor and outdoor unit. It works by extracting air from outside and cooling it down using a refrigeration cycle. The cooled air is then recirculated back into the room.
The system also filters the air before it’s recirculated, making the split system AC unit an ideal choice for anyone sensitive to pollen, dust, and other pollutants.

The benefits of residential AC installation
Residential air conditioning installation is no longer a rarity in the UK. In fact, walk down your street, and you’ll probably see several homes with an AC unit mounted on the exterior. Air conditioning is beneficial for most people, but especially the elderly, children, and anyone with a serious health condition.
Scorching summers combined with high pollen counts can make being outside unbearable for some months of the year. Air conditioning not only controls the temperature inside your home, providing you with a sanctuary, but it also filters the air, making it easier to breathe.
Silent mode for a good night’s sleep
Getting a good night’s sleep in a heatwave is nearly impossible. It’s hot, and sticky – and the fan you bought sounds like there’s a Boeing 747 in the room with you (not ideal for sleeping, particularly for kids).
When it’s hot outside, we all lose valuable sleep, but with air conditioning, you can set the temperature in your bedroom to guarantee a full forty winks.
The Climate 3000i has a silent mode that runs the unit at its quietest for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Cool, calm, and quiet – that’s better.
Split system air con for difficult spaces
Some rooms remain stubbornly cold no matter what you do – a conservatory is a perfect example (too hot in summer and too cold in winter).
Adding a radiator might help, but it’s not always practical. Home aircon installation is a clever way around this problem.
It blows hot as well as cold, so you can use it to heat rooms quickly where you haven’t got a radiator. Your conservatory, garden office, loft conversion and extension are all suitable for wall-mounted air conditioning.

Choosing a Bosch air conditioner installer
Your home is in safe hands with our engineers. We’re F-Gas Registered, which means we’re accredited to work with air conditioning gases, and we’re a certified Worcester Bosch air conditioning installer.
To earn these credentials, we have demonstrated to industry regulators that we operate safely, efficiently, and with a high level of competence.
We’ve worked in Kent for over 35 years – and as a local family-run business, we know that you’re only as good as your last job. Our certified engineers built up a reputation for being reliable, competent and delivering outstanding customer service.
Our reputation speaks for itself with hundreds of five-star reviews on TrustPilot, Google, and Check-a-Trade, from happy customers who return to us for their boilers and air conditioning.
Air con aftercare and maintenance
Your air conditioning unit comes with a 5-year warranty as standard. Though it’s unlikely that anything will go wrong, if it does, we’re here to help. Our team of certified engineers are experienced in air conditioning repairs and servicing.
Just like your boiler, your air conditioning unit needs servicing annually to keep it in tip-top condition. Having your AC serviced will keep it running efficiently, increase its lifespan, and reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.
It’s also often a condition of the manufacturer’s warranty (don’t get caught out – check your AC manual for the terms of your warranty).
For the same price as a one-service, you can take out cover for your air conditioning. Air con cover includes an annual service as standard, as well as priority call-outs for unexpected repairs and discounted parts.

Frequently asked questions
Air conditioning is a hot topic, and there’s a lot of misinformation out there. Before you ask Google, check our FAQs to see if we’ve provided the answer.
How much does it cost to install aircon?
The cost to install air conditioning is determined by the make, model, and size of the unit. Your location in the UK will also play a part in how much you pay. Installing air conditioning in Kent is likely to cost around £1500.
Do air conditioners use a lot of electricity?
The amount of electricity an air conditioner uses varies depending on its size and efficiency rating. The Worcester Bosch Climate 3000i is a reversible split air conditioning system that blows hot and cold air. It has an efficiency rating of A++ for cooling and A+ for heating.
Why do so few Brits have air conditioning?
Until recently, air conditioning in the UK was relatively uncommon; that’s simply because it wasn’t required. However, the frequency of heat waves has led to an increase in the popularity of residential AC installation.
Which is better – air conditioning or an electric fan?
Ultimately, the choice between air conditioning and an electric fan comes down to personal preference. Air conditioning is more effective at bringing down the temperature of a room, but an electric fan is cheaper and more portable.
Do you need planning permission to install AC?
Generally speaking, you don’t need planning permission to install air conditioning at home, but it’s always wise to check. Ask your engineer when they come out to survey the space before your unit is installed.
